100th Day of School

Ok, so the 100th day of school fell on Valentines Day which I know was two weeks ago. However, I couldn't think of a better post to start off with. I read what seemed like millions of blogs on what different teachers were doing for the 100th day of school. So lets just say I had PLENTY of activities to last us the WHOLE day.

In the morning when students came in we started off our day with a journal "My favorite thing about the first 100 days of school" from Rachelle over at What The Teacher Wants.... The students loved this. They wrote so many amazing things. They even refreshed my memory with some activities I had forgot all about.  Then we decorated our 100th day of school crowns and sun glasses. Both of these items were purchased from Really Good Stuff. The students LOVED it!

We also wrote 100 words and displayed them on our classroom door!
The students also tried to guess how far 100 steps would take them. Many of them guessed they would end up on the third floor. But to their surprise we didn't even make it to the end of the hallway!

The last activity was the one I LOVED the most! We made a portrait of what we would look like if we were 100 years old. This idea came from Deanna over at Mrs. Jumps Class. After we finished I hung all of the pictures in the hallway. Not only did the principal compliment their work, she also took a picture of the board and added it to the school wide newsletter!!!!

Over all we had a great time! Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas.
